Vatakara NRI Forum is an established UAE-based
socio-cultural association of Non-Resident Indians from
Vatakara Parliamentary constituency, a booming vibrant
region in the State of Kerala.
This
association, born on 1st November 2002, has
established its presence in Abu Dhabi, Dubai, Sharjah
and Ras Al-Khaimah, and aims to complement the other
similar associations of Non-Resident Indians in their
efforts to promote and facilitate socio-cultural bonds
between societies.
Vatakara,
known for its historical significance, cultural heritage
and vast trade potential, occupies a geographically
prominent place on the map of Kerala in its north-west
belt along the vital coast of Arabian Sea.
Vatakara
Parliamentary region comprises seven Assembly segments
of Vatakara, Koyilandy, Perambra, Meppayyur, Nadapuram,
Peringalam and Tellichery. Vatakara lies in the
Districts of Kozhikode and Kannur. Today, estimates
indicate that people from the Vatakara region, currently
resident in UAE number more than 12,000.
